A lesson from Haitian kids

Posted February 25th, 2010

Felt convicted yesterday about how much I focus on what I need as opposed to startingwith what I have. Haitian kids who have lost limbs and still were laughing and smiling taught me that.

It truly is amazing the resilience of the Haitian children and Haitians in general. I really enjoyed seeing all of the photos. It brought back some wonderful memories:) I am looking forward to hearing a more detailed summary of your trip to the Dominican when you arrive back in Washington. It sounds like you are doing some good things for those countries. Thankyou for being willing to go and do work that needs to be done. I will continue to pray for your safety as you travel.

While in the comforts of the comparably plush surroundings of my home, I’m shielded from the true reality of the situation in Haiti. I feel only a fraction of the magnitude of Dr. McKenna’s conviction. Also read a blog from a dear friend, a youth pastor from Colorado, who is currently in Haiti as well (http://bit.ly/92PPRd). Both posts have left me speechless. Can’t imagine…prayers are with you all.
